Sharon Burke of Solid Agency has been apart of Orville 'Shaggy' Burrell's team for some time. Solid Agency handles the entertainer's bookings for the Caribbean, so when the idea came up to stage the Shaggy and Friends charity event, he called her up and asked her to get involved. It was an easy decision for Burke to make, particularly because of her own association with St Andrew's Bustamante Hospital for Children, which is the beneficiary of funds raised from the staging of the show.

"I have a 12-year-old son, Che, and I had been to the Bustamante Hospital several times in the past with him, so I knew that the hospital needed help," she said.

" I have always been involved in charity. I started a group called S.O.M.E (So Others May Exist) about 20 years ago. We gave incubators and ventilators to hospitals that needed them," said Burke.

Her desire to help notwithstanding, it must be difficult for Burke to find time to dedicate to help produce Shaggy and Friends. But, you'll hear no complaints from her.

"I know all the people with whom I am working, so it's pretty easy. In addition, all of them are experienced in their own right," she said.

Burke added that she gets great satisfaction from being involved.

"The sense of fulfilment which comes from satisfying a critical need in my country and knowing that I am helping others to exist (is great)."

Her specific role in organising the show is not easily defined. She is critically involved in several areas.

"Rebecca Packer and I are the producers of the show. If anyone knows me, they know I am the mouthpiece, while Rebecca is the administrator. We basically choose the team. Rebecca looks after the financial affairs and I concentrate on the show production and oversee everything to do with the artistes," she explains. "I also assist in the public relations and marketing of the event."
