Flair Year in Review - Things we Loved

Published: Monday | December 28, 2009

This year was one full of memories with you, our wonderful readers, who kept us at number one. As we approach a new year, we take a trek down memory lane on the year that was. Here are some of the highlights of Things we Loved in 2009.

Swimsuit issue

Sacha Walters and Latoya Grindley travelled to Hedonism III in Runaway Bay, St Ann, with our models, photographer Ricardo Makyn and make-up artist Paul Marsh for our swimsuit-issue shoot. It was a lot of work but the end result was worth it.

Kim-Marie Spence Arctic expedition

It was history in the making. Jamaican Kim-Marie Spence was to be the first Jamaican to make it on the Kaspersky Lab CommonWealth Antarctic Expedition.

Unfortunately, a few days into the journey, she suffered frostbites on her fingers and to save them she had to abandon her historic quest. Never give up Kim!

Casanova in Cross Roads

Daviot Kelly as usual put his spin on this never-before-seen event in his Kelly's World of August 31. Olando Lawrence got down on his knees, literally, in the middle of Cross Roads and proposed to his girlfriend, Stacy-Lee Cole. Now that's romantic.

Bachelor of the Year

This one was the cherry on top. Jamaican women were hot and bothered when we unveiled our selection of Jamaica's most eligible bachelors for 2009. The temperature got higher when we revealed the top 10.

But it was our winner Trudane Hardware who really got our readers going. The vote was overwhelming and it was unanimous.

Flair turned 25!!

On October 16, Flair celebrated its 25 anniversary. The writers stepped from behind their bylines and became cover girls and guy for a day. We shared the highlights of the shoot with you and here is a look back.
